EXPRESSION OF TRUTH AND BEAUTY

This project demonstrates the relationship between form and function. The objective of this project was to take a bridge and an object that is used in everyday life and integrate them together. The overall purpose is to alter a bridge and incorporate the function of an object into it, allowing the bridge to clear a 30' x 40' opening.

Preliminary Design & Transformation

For my design I decided to use an eyelash curler. My idea was to use the mechanism of the eyelash curler to life the roadbed of the bridge and clear the 30' x 40' opening. This idea took several attempts due to several faults in some of my earlier designs, but towards the end everything worked out and the bridge functioned just as I imagined.
